The physical Out 1 knob. Turn it down.
What is your Out 1 knob usually set at?
This setting is spread like a virus, really. Makes more trouble than fixing things. You always say it but unfortunately not so many people listen to you...Same for me. My band has a regular gig at an outdoor venue with house PA. I have my presets mostly set at the line on the VU (some are higher or lower based on adjusments made at gig volume) and the sound man always stops me when Output 1 is at about 1 o’clockAre your presets set using the VU at about the visible line? If so I have my output 1 at noon using XLR to the FOH and the board is pretty happy.
it's one way. louder sounds will be to the right of the mid-line by definition. some use a Filter, EQ, or any other available block to turn on/off for a boost. many ways to do it.Do you guys use scenes ? I have been leveling each scene with the per scene slider at the output.
Matching them to the level. Then my leads scene pushes over the line a bit...a few DB to cut through.
Is this the best way to manage a louder scene for lead ?
Thanks

The problem is most people DO clip the device after the AX8 when they turn it up all the way. Then they think they aren’t allowed to turn it down and have issues at the gig. *shrug* documented many times here.the big benefit of setting output 1 and 2 to maximum while everything is leveled to lets say 0dB you really can't have any issue with clipping !
The other way round if you have everything leveled to 0dB but output knob at 12 o'clock you can bring the signal easily to clip by increasing the output knob to lets say 3 o'clock !
For me it is better to set the master of my amp or monitor slightly higher than I will ever need it to be and to then to only reduce level with the output knob on AX8 .
Clipping is really bad !

You clip the Mixer or speaker after the AX8 - whatever you plug it into.sorry, I don't get your point exactly, how to clip the signal after the AX8 ?
If level is at 0dB while vol knob is full right how to clip the signal then?
to level the output to 0dB with vol knob at max doesn't mean that you have to keep the knob in that position always but makes sure that the level won't exceed 0dB ;-) Or am I wrong?
Many people do not know how to do that, or do not have control of the mixer to adjust. So it’s a problem in many gig and professional situations.I start to understand your point - at home my AX8 goes straight into a mixer and I am leveling the AX8 output in reference to the level-meter of the console not the vu-meter from the AX8.
In a live situation going straight to a mixing console, is the level coming out of the AX8 with the output knob all the way up much hotter than a pro-level keyboard? I imagine they are both line level, +4 db
If you set the master vol in amp section to zero - promise - you won't have any signal ;-) So, means - you need to level your presets, first to not have volume jumps between them and second to send an appropriate level to FOH - usually this is about 0dB or in some systems +4dB. your output level depends on each gain stage within the signal chain - even the level knob of the compressor pedal influences the output level. That depends on how you've dialed in your presets. If you have a really hot preset, you'll be kicking out a signal that's hotter than you're likely to get with a keyboard. In a live situation going straight to a mixing console, is the level coming out of the AX8 with the output knob all the way up much hotter than a pro-level keyboard? Turn the Out 1 knob up to what you need to cooperate with the next device. It’s a volume knob so you are allowed to change it during performance if necessary. If my presets are dialed in as recommended, hovering in around the vertical line on the Fractal meter. What output level is recommended for for the balanced XLR outputs? What is the general consensus here?
