Promoters know they’ll sell more tickets and management know they’ll get a better deal with the original name. Also the bigger the name, the bigger the venues. The band members will be told this. Some bands arguably do it for the money, which I don’t think is the case with Rush. IMHO they have a nice background story that feels honest.I agree totally. But commercially that would attract less people. I even more agree on Yes. It’s a shame that that holds the Yes name. But from a commercial standpoint I understand.
I would not dare to book ”Lars Ulrich Band plays Metallica” for a stadium show. But would book Metallica, even without Kirk and Lars. Without James I’d have to think about it.
EDIT: also super happy for Janika. Must be a dream come true!
