Rush… is it true?

They've earned the right to do this.

Obviously it won't be the same....and they know that better than any of us.
I think I'd rather they didn't call it Rush?

Again, this is entirely a me problem, I know.

As for "earned the right" -- it's their band, their trademark, their business. They can do what they want. I'm not hung up on "right". Just that, to me, Rush was three dudes, not two. Or One.

Watching the announcement and Ged brining up other musician, and saying he was wanting move around more I did wonder if there'd be someone else singing. As his voice wasn't that great when I saw them on the last GB tour.

Same here - hoping for show to pop up here. + even though I love them dearly, if their org is gonna pursue the insane ticket prices we often see these days, then I'll be watching YT clips also.
Yup, I'm a life-long fan.. Oh to sit in the front, in front of Alex. Oracle: The Dream

I'm not overly concerned with that. It's just that it's not Rush without Neil. At least, to me.

I get that. I like how Bob Weir and the others carried on with the alternate names. Like ‘The Dead’ with Warren Haynes and ‘Dead and Company’ with Mayer.

For Alex and Geddy I personally don’t mind them calling it Rush. They’re not typical Rock Stars. They always seemed to be about the music and art first and the money just happened as they went. I could be wrong it’s not like I actually know these guys but that’s the impression I formed over the years.

First band I've seen that is doing a "reunion tour" that I truly believe they just miss playing together and they're doing it for purely the love of their music and honoring their friend. Neil's wife & daughter are on board with it. I honestly can't find a problem with it.

FWIW...

“We are thrilled to support the Fifty Something tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honour Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist. As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable. We are excited to see how their new vision unfolds, and to hear this legendary music played live once again,” Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart, Peart’s widow and daughter, said in a joint statement.

I love that Anika was willing, available... and more than capable. Just sits better with me than if they got... insert other fellas here.

Also kinda cool that you can spell his first name from her last name.

I bet it will do a lot to heal their mourning... an unfillable void.

Fair faks to them... go get'em! (after the Jays win the World Series!)

I don't mind too much. It's the smarter business decision on their part, assuming they don't price the tickets through the roof.
Which ticket is someone more likely to buy: "The Don Henley Band featuring Joe Walsh" or "An Evening with The Eagles?"

They're playing two shows in Fort Worth (about 50 miles from me) but I'm going to skip it.
I saw 6 shows across the "A Farewell to Kings", "Hemispheres", "Permanent Waves", "Moving Pictures" and R30 tours.
I'm happy I got to see them during my favorite era from the band.

Everybody got mixed feelings... I'm going to choose to look at it very positively.
