reminds me to finish installing 2 pickups on my Strat. I have Kinman e69 impersonator bridge already in but have the middle /neck matching pups to yet install. Been months on the back burner.

I totally get where you’re coming from with the crazy prices on guitars these days. Your Charvel Pro Mod DK24 already sounds like a solid piece of gear, especially with the upgrades you’ve done. Refretting it could be a game-changer, especially if the jumbo frets are bothering you. Medium jumbos or stainless steel could make a huge difference in playability and longevity. I haven’t done a refret myself, but I’ve heard from others that it’s a great way to breathe new life into a guitar you already love. It’s a win-win—get a more comfortable neck without spending a fortune on a new guitar. Plus, you’d end up with a quasi-new instrument that’s custom-fitted to your preferences. If you’ve got the budget for it and you’re happy with the rest of the guitar, it sounds like a solid project.

after some arm twisting I got them to bring in the GG to my local shop from other city. They made an exception for what they consider a specialty item in their stock. Now, the long wait! Likely early/mid next week it'll arrive...
