Subject to DSP limitations and Helix can use both DSPs for amps or effects as needed. Different coding can be more efficient too. All that matters at the end of the day is the right feel and tone. We'll all know soon enough.

Much simpler code doesn't use much cpu either.

Most of us are sure Cliff knows a little about that!

Surely thats nothing more than an assumption at this stage - there's more than one way of building up a "model" ? For all we know Line 6 have developed a new method which places a lesser demand on the CPU's ??

Anyone know what the dimensions are on the AX-8..looks bigger than i thought in that cooper carter video.

I thought it was the same as the FX-8..

Well, to be honest, when it comes to the AX-8 we already know. It'll be identical to the Axe-Fx II when it comes to feel and tone. No need to guess.

Has it been confirmed that the AX8 is running everything in full res?

FAS & Line6 are both modeling at the circuit/component level, so what would one think?

That's the way I took it. But it assumes a lot.

Thanks! Looking forward to the new firmware, but note that the post relates to firmware for the FX8 so not sure it applies to all fractal products and probably only to effects.

Axe-Fx and AX and FX share a lot of code, so what applies to one will often apply to others.
