More master volume would probably help. Dynamics up some. xfmr match maybe up some.
other ideas - lower power tube bias, up sag.

Had already done motor drive. Thanks for the suggestion on bias. I've never really messed with that significantly.

MV is dimed. I'll take another look at the preset tomorrow and mess with some of those params. Thanks, Sean.

Preamp Bias can greatly change your tone. It can go from smooth-as-the-amp-itself to a sputtering mess that will convince you the amp is broken.
