Hey I forgot ask when I first replied to this thread, What are the control on your bass? I'm guessing that there are 2 volume, 2 tone, and then...maybe a pickup balance control? This is a passive Jackson bass.
It’s still pretty good.I didn't even think about the Bass section. on it. thx. @dr bonkers you mean the thread from 2021/22? that preset still work well with current FW or is there another thread?
My bad. It is actually both. I forgot it had active ha. but on the first volume its push/pull which defeats the active circuit. the 3 outer knobs is 3 band EQ (active only) and the toggle is for coil split. Its not a high end or anything. i picked it up few years ago totally unplanned but was in the market for a bass. I just liked how it felt and sounded. more than adequate for the few times I pull it out for a recording. Or maybe master volume and tone, and 3 band EQ?
Edit: Wait... no need for tone control if you have EQ. And if it's totally passive then I'm back to my first thought.
Gonna do a little recording today and pulled out the bass. It's been forever. This is a passive Jackson bass. I don't do fingers well so I play with pick. Lookin' for just straight up great rock tone. Nothing too fancy.
I see what you're doin there. That's one of the principles applied in the Pete Thorn Vid. blending a DI with some light compression to maintain the low subs but then on the mid /high end appying some processing/grind etcI discussed my preferred setup here:

This is the way. Removing the low-end frequencies from the hi-pass DIRT path really helps those driven sounds to behave much, much better.I discussed my preferred setup here:

What type of rock tone are you looking for? More of a clean/subtle drive classic rock tone, something a bit more aggressive like scorpions or guns and roses? I’ve got some suggestions to throw out but would be good to know what you’re after.Gonna do a little recording today and pulled out the bass. It's been forever. This is a passive Jackson bass. For me, both. What type of rock tone are you looking for? More of a clean/subtle drive classic rock tone, something a bit more aggressive like scorpions or guns and roses? I’ve got some suggestions to throw out but would be good to know what you’re after.
