Post Your Rig!

that is a rig gone past, but it was a great one! i never bonded with 4CM so just ran the axe in the effects loop of the mark v. i used a mini amp gizmo to switch it all from the mfc-101 and a radial cabbone cab switcher to switch between the two cabs. most of the time i was only using the axe for effects, but once in a while i would plug into the front of the axe and drive the power section of the mark v with an amp sim. very flexible setup that sounded great! good luck...

Thanks for the reply. I'm curious how come you decided to get rid of the setup? Are you still using the axe fx?

Thanks again

Paul

except I'm using the G system at the moment and really want to change to the axe fx.

Today a modified version of the G-system was announced by TC, the iB Modified.
Second time (after the Ltd.) that they introduce a modified version, solving issues again with the input buffer (check the videos) and such.
Don't know what to think about it ...
Guess there'll be a lot of complaints by owners of the original. It aint exactly cheap...

Yeah I saw that think they need to concentrate on a new firmware not a new model, That's one of the reasons I wanna change to the axe fx.

And that's all she is, for now! :) In love with it. If only work and school hadn't kept me from playing basically at all for the last few weeks.

Hi,

still the same rig, but last weekend I set it up differently. In the past when I used two of the Reactors I stacked them and when I used all four I used two little stacks of two of them.

On saturday when we played at a party I thought "bigger is better" ;-)) and stacked all four:

I liked it. ehm... really loved it ;-)

Best,

Jochen
sounded like this: Axe-Fx II with Reactor FR live short sniplet mp3

Krasser Turm Jochen !! Das würde ich mal gerne live hören/spüren wenn Mann so was im Rücken hat !:-))) geil !

Hello there! thought i'd share my current "bedroom rig" haha.

In band jam the QSC's are hooked up as PA speakers, and last couple of times i've ran the axe straight to mixer then PA, but lately i've tried to use the axe as an effects unit only running my signal like so:
Guitar - TS9 - Custom build X88 clone - AXE- JCM800 (poweramp) - Orange 4x12
I'm tinkering with this setup as I like how the 4x12 shakes everything and i haven't gotten around to making patches for just Axe to poweramp :p so photos of that when it's done :)

heres what i got at the moment:

And the guitars:

Here's my non-AxeFx side of the room.

On top are a Strymon Bluesky Reverberator, THD Hot Plate and a Strymon dBucket Delay. 6505+ below that, and a TS808 on the floor. Fiddles are a KxK SC7, Carvin CS4 and an EBMM JP6. :)

it's also a matter of weight for the smaller racks. the center of balance may be above the tipping point for a 3-4 spacer of lighter material like the abs plastic, etc. thermally, you're right. i think i asked the same question back when.

you could always simplify things and go frfr :-P

i noticed alot of ppl put the power amp under the axe. wouldnt you want the axe under the poweramp so the axe doesnt get as hot??? (heat rises)
The heat factor was one of the primary reasons I pulled the ART SLA-2 out of my Axe-Fx rig, it just ran way to hot for me to feel safe and I really wanted the Ultra at the top of the rack. But when I switched to the Carvin DCM1540L heat became a total non-issue.

Not sure if I posted this, so forgive me if its a dup. Using a K12 instead of the K8(still has the marshall plastic!). Using a reworked buddawah for pedal1-backwards(pedal down is low tone and vice versa), it just really agrees with me. No more velo beast. I put a magnum44 in the back and it was way louder than I need it to be! I dont miss the 18 pounds of that velo300. 44 Drives the 2x12 for the bass player to hear me, and the QSC is pretty much for me to hear me. Out1 to QSC and FOH, Out2 to 44 and 2x12. G30 wireless into the front of the A2, at least at the moment. I was using the back in this picture, but got tired of switching for home(no wireless) and away. Gold knobs, silver inserts on the lifeson now.

my back loves me for this

using a Line6 Mobile In with a free Mobile Pod app that goes into an iPad (pictured) or an iPhone.
Not exactly rocket surgery (unlike my AxeFX Ultra), but WAY easier to haul around.
p.s. I love Fractal!

This is my current rig, the AxeFX II should be in next week and to be honest I haven't completely decided how I am going to integrate it. Currently I have it set up as a wet-dry-wet rig where the Mark V is my dry tone coming through the Mesa 4x12 and I have the GCX set up to send either the slave from the Mark V or the Rectifier Recording Pre into the TC Electronic G-Major 2 for the stereo wet signal through two Mesa 2x12s powered by a Mesa Stereo 2:Fifty.

The GCX is also doing all of the channel switching for both the Mark V and the Recto so I can set up patches that choose how to set up both amps, which ones I want to use and what patch the G Major 2 is using.

I am thinking I'll probably put the AxeFX II in it's own rack with a solid state power amp so I can use it along with this rig if I want or in the studio without having to carry this heavy mofo. I don't really use this rig in the studio as I layer tones and stuff one at a time, but you should hear what it sounds like live with both the Mark V and the Rectifier slamming. It's brutal for my rhythm tones, I turn off the Recto for clean and lead tones.

A perspective full of AWESOME!!

Can't wait to start messing with this thing!! About 12 days until it's here!! I have to admit though, all-tube-amp-wise, the ENGL steve morse provides me with what I could only dream! I'm wondering what it can do combined with the Axe II :o
