Don't know if this is a known issue or part of a feature I don't understand but...
On certain panels trying to <tab> out of a field ends up copying the value even when it's not valid (like not in the next fields drop down list). Near as I can tell this isn't destructive (i.e. it's not REALLY the fields value), but it makes for a wonky user experience.
