i remember meeting cliff at the 2008 NY amp show. we tried out my sadowsky custom tele through an ultra and 2 qsc monitors. i remember him saying "that's the greatest clean tone i've ever heard" after going through a few of the cleaner patches on the ultra. he's a righteous dude

Tonally, to my ear, it sounds no different whatsoever to the Ultra. The "feel'" though, might be another subject.
