NEW! DynaCab™ Pack: 4x12 Freed Man

I bought the Freed Man pack and it sounds really good. The additional new microphone choices make all the difference.

I hope any new Dyna Cab Packs have the additional microphone choices.

I particularly like these:
Condenser LOL67 based on the ADK™ C-LOL 67
Condenser Munich based on the ADK™ T-FET Munich M7
Ribbon 160 based on the Beyerdynamic™ M160

There are a lot of microphones with Dyna Cab Packs. Is a Firmware update for the hardware planned (Fm9) ?

This isn’t for the FM9, you use these in Cab-lab and then export and IR.

You can’t load these directly into any Fractal hardware unit

Just bought this, have to admit, I am impressed. Great sounding cab and mics! Love the ability to use Fredman technique (two 57's one off axis)...

What is the angle of the off axis 57, does anyone know? I wonder if it is 45 degrees, or the 55 degrees a la Friedman technique.

Can anybody do a short demo of these?
Just use a pre-recorded DI and cycle through some mics with a hi-gain amp / model - hope it's not too much to ask.
I can't find any sample online for this & I'm curious how it sounds.

If you have the latest firmware, it will have the dyna-cab version of this cab. The difference is, the cablab version offers more mics and the ability to create your own custom IR. In this case, you can blend up to 4 different microphones into 1 IR. My favorite is the friedman mic technique of a 57, an off axis 57, then finally a 121 to round it out.

I don't have any Fractal products anymore.
Will be back to the ecosystem once the next generation floor modeler drops.

By that time, it may very well be a completely different thing. Assuming that there will be another genereation other than the FM9 mkii turbo with the large screens.

I could still get the pack for Cab Lab and use with my NAM profiles.
Anyway, will wait it out.

This pack sounds really, really good. I use it with the DC-30 and matchless chieftain speaker impedance curve and I've got my some amazing tones out of it. The Ultra-res samples make a big difference. More packs need to come!

Anyone has both the 1x12 and the 4x12 Freed Man, to give an opinion?

I prefer emphasis and clarity on mid-range rather than too much oomph on lows and fizzs on highs, which is sometimes better in a 1x12 than in a 4x12

The 1x12 is $20 cheaper and contains the same mics (the 4x12 must be more expensive because it includes two cabs with different speakers)

I already own these two:
  • 1x12 AC20
  • 4x12 1960TV

I've been curious also.
I wish there was a way to demo these Dyna-Cabs first. Like something locked down in CabLab to where you can't export, etc. Maybe just a sm57 on each of the cabs.
I had usually liked a 4x12 cab until I started using Fractal and IR's, and now Dyna-Cabs. I greatly prefer a 2x12 these days for pretty much any genre.
I currently only have the 4x12 Freed Man pack, but my gig presets are built with the 2x12 Stealth, which is a factory DC.

I have both, but haven't had time to really try out the 1x12 much. Also, the 4x12 is one cab with 2x's GB and 2x's V30. The 1x12 is a G12h-150 Redback speaker.

I've bought the 4x12. The order confirmation has been very fast.

It is great!!! A worthy purchase. In few minutes I got just what I like (playing through the JS410 Lead Red, tweaking the Input and Output EQ)

Just opened a saved session to check and the placements appear pretty close to what I used. Mine were on the other side of the cone. I'll have to check this out.
