Late to the party, but the 1970 100w plexi really took me by surprise. As long as you lower the bass and crank the mv/ other tone controls... It roars. Very stringy, barky, woody, warm power amp distortion. And this is with no boosting. Coming from a mostly thrash /80s metal, blues/ guy this says a lot. I normally boost 90% of my amps for high gain. This amp has me equally appreciate the simple plug and rip mentality with no coating on the original tone. Glorious
