I see a lot of higher gain tones showcased here, but not a ton of pop / indie / alternative stuff. I thought this might be nice to show off here. All guitars are direct from the Axe II into my Antelope Discrete 8 via SPDIF. We usually use the Axe as an interface to record the parts + DIs initially, clean up the DI's as needed, and then reamp via SPDIF.
The Axe 2 is still a beast, and it's our favorite piece of gear in the studio. When we're working on production it's so powerful to be able to just whip up a rig from scratch that does exactly what you want. I haven't bought an amp or pedal (except for a tuner) in my 5+ years of ownership. We also use an Axe 2 and an AX8 live, which has been a huge benefit for our live shows.
I may upgrade to a III down the road just for the enhanced routing and channel capabilities, but I can't imagine it getting much better than this haha!
