My album(s), recorded with axefx. The Sleeping Philosophers

psst

Inspired
I've been writing and recording at my rehearsal place, on gaps between tours.
This is not what you expect for a guitar oriented band or rock, I wanted to be different. All songs are really different styles and they don't have a traditional verse-chorus-verse structure.
All guitars and bass recorded through axefx.

I made two albums, five songs each, cause I think that's the right thing for modern times, when people don't really have time to listen to an hour of music.
I'm going to announce this next week, when the website is up, but in the meantime I thought of putting it here in case someone has any curiosity to listen to it.

I named the project "The Sleeping Philosophers".

The first album is "The Time Of The Sleeping Philosophers":

and the second one is "Baghdad":

And by the way, although some people know me for my pink floyd tribute band (http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-f...ient-roman-amphiteatre-guitar-bass-axefx.html), this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Pink Floyd. ;-)

Really hope someone likes this.

Extremely cool! Very Queen like opening on the 'Philosophers'...

Also - fabulous mixing/effects - the funk guitar in Voodoo Love Lady seemed to come from well outside my speakers' placement.

are you by any chance a fan of "Queen"? - sounds great - i like it very much - nice slide playing too - keep it up man :encouragement: oh nice what i hear now sounds like a sitar - well done. Rhytm is Bo Didley alike..... cool.

Thank you so much! It's great that you like it! :) :)

Black Bitch, I do love Freddie, but that's more the intro of the first song and the way I sung the second one. Then all are very different styles. :)

Cool stuff. Did you record some of that 'ensemble' style, either the vocals or music?
By ensemble i mean a group of two or more singers singing live together, but i guess the same thing applies to the instruments.

BillyZeppa, it's recorded one by one, actually all the vocal harmonies are me. Many of the instruments are me too, except the ones I can't play (trumpet, violin, accordion, etc). I've been fortunate to have friends playing whenever I needed it.
That was the process because there's no band (I'm making one now, for live shows), I actually recorded it while writting it at the same time, coming from basic ideas and evolving and arranging it and adding and changing parts. It was a crazy and fun process. :)

All playing credits are in the cover art of the CDs.

Again, thanks for listening. It's the first time I make my own music available and it's pretty magic when someone likes it. :)

A video we made of one of my songs. Shot in one day, with one camera, then edited and pos-produced, and here's the result:

I made it with the same friend we made the Atom Heart Mother live video:

There's some photos of the shooting day on "The Sleeping Philosophers" facebook page. :)
