Mama's back ... again (AE 3.x): The Mother Of All Pedal and Effect Emulations thread

@Hughj
The delays I posted are meant to be placed in parallel.
Input gain is connected to an external controller.
the input gain defaults to 100% which is way over the top.
Simply lower it.

Great thread and thanks for all the work posting the FX blocks. I tried them all out and found really cool sounding flanger, phaser, and rotary presets, as well as others. The talk-box block had a clever method of using controllers on two parameters that I thought was quite interesting and will be useful for controlling some of my other blocks.

The Drop-Down-Whammy as used in The Black Keys' Lonely Boy.

Put the Pitch block at the start of the grid (set to X). Followed by a fuzz.

Use External 1 (pedal) to drop the pitch. The Damping setting makes sure the pitch doesn't drop too fast.

Firmware v12.03.

Intelligent Harmonizer, which I used to a part in the bridge of QOTSA's No One Knows.
Key: C.

Put the Pitch block AFTER the Amp block in a parallel row. Set to X.

Simulated feedback, based on Simeon's preset.

Place the Pitch at the start of the grid, after a Compressor. Set to X.
Use with a distorted amp tone.

Use External 1 (pedal) to fade in the simulated feedback.

Firmware v12.03

I was wondering if anyone had any compressor blocks they could share. Haven't gotten the hang of doing anything cool with this yet. Thanks.

Very mild compression for clean tones. Works for me. Put at start of the grid.

Post #2 already provides a "slow gear" effect.
Here's another, more suited to single notes.

Place the VOL block at the start of the grid. Also load the accompanying Controller block for the correct envelope settings.
Engage the block.

Combine with loads of reverb and delay.

Firmware v12.

Here's a dual delay: 2 trails, one left, one right.

I use this for playing Let's Dance (Bowie).

Place the DLY block AFTER the Amp block. In a parallel row. Set to Y.

Firmware v12.

NOTE: because of Delay block changes in firmware 12.03, you may need to change the Feedback values to prevent oscillating.

This Tremolo simulates breath control, like when playing the flute.

Place at the end.

Dropped tunings.

Place this Pitch block at the start of the grid, BEFORE the Amp block. Set to Y.

Scene 1 drops a full note, scene 2 a half note, scene 3 is normal.
This is accomplished using Scene Controllers. Controllers block is attached.

Firmware 12.03.

This really is a fantastic thread. Thanks Yek (and all) for your contributions and the reincarnation of this block sharing thread. I will see if I can dig up some worthy content to contribute :)

Hey Yek-

I'm interested in checking out the PEQ you posted that you use with FRFR amplification.

However, I can't use any of the blocks in this thread because of the Axe Edit bug I've been experiencing. Can you post or point me to a preset that has that block in it? I can load presets and copy the block to a new preset.

Thanks!

Ben
