Nope - I also like 'spongy'. Started when I first heard the thick cleans on the first Hellecasters album, and I have been a fan ever since. When I bought my Fuchs amp, I had Andy put in a SAG switch to help with this (I also played at lower wattage). If you look at almost any of my patches, you will see a compressor at the head of the chain.
