I have always found the "Gibsons/Les Pauls don't stay in tune" Internet hype overstated and overblown.

If you knows what you are doing tuning is not an issue. Have played and owned Gibsons since I was
17 and never once thought, "Why can't I keep it in tune?" Not. One. Damn. Time.

I agree. Many companies have so many various products in their lineups, and differing quality levels (sometimes at different periods of time), that those blanket statements simply cannot be true.
As for tuning stability, ever since you gave me that tip about using Vasoline on the strings (I use the Nut Sauce at the nut and saddles), my guitars with floating trems stay in tune, even if I go crazy with the trem. Which is kinda surprising.
