Just got home from the LA Amp Show. A few notes.

Cliff and Tom are just as personable as you would imagine. We all know the customer service at Fractal is unparalleled and the interaction with the top dogs is a key component to that "family" feeling we all get here. To meet and talk with them was truly an honor.

The Atomic FRFR Monitors sounded incredible with the Axe-Fx. Many who entered the room were suprised when they looked around back and realized they were powered monitors.

The MFC-101 looked great in action. The display was very big and extremely bright! I dont know if its a change or not but the backlighting in the display was a shade of blue rather than the green I have seen in the videos. IMO, it looked better.

... and I have downgraded myself from intermediate to advanced beginner :cry:

blue backlight??wow!this is GREAT news!!!!!!
i'm definitely getting one. i just hope it'll be available soon.still waiting....patiently. 8-)
 
I remember a year ago (maybe a bit more - it was on the old forum) people were discussing alternative LCD displays for the Axe-Fx. This included different colors. If I recall, Cliff stated that the green used in the Axe-Fx display was much easier to read than the blue displays that people had mentioned. The blue does look pretty, but Ill take readability over looks any time.

Does anyone else remember that thread?

I don't think it's the same type of LCD that was talked about in that old thread...because the blue today was VERY readable from a good distance/sharp angle and it didn't look like the current AxeFx display either. It kind of had an iridescence to it...very cool!!!

probably an OLED display.
 
Those Atomic cabs sound absolutely killer. Can't wait to grab a pair.

Great to hear! Is there any news update on when the Fractal floorboard will be released?

I did a poll and it was poo pooed... viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3989 I sure would love to have a blue back lite LCD or better yet the option to change it to whatever color I want.
 
There was something about it needing a completely different lcd screen with different drivers built into the firmware, and the color lcds were less dependable. Who gets blamed if the lcd fails?

God forbid. OLEDs are known to degrade over time. I'd expect more than a couple of years of useful life from the MFC.
