Integrating samples in a live performance.

Hi there! After attending a festival with many established acts i realised how big effect samples can have in a live set. I'm not talking about full track mixdowns of maybe bass guitar or orchestras but even the smaller ones between a short break. I would like to intergrade something similar in our band setup WITHOUT the use of a laptop!
I just need 3-4 high quality stereo samples to blend between intermissions. Midi control with my FM3 would be a bonus. I prefer stompbox format and as cheap as possible. Any recommendations?

Probably simplest there will be some sort of looper pedal with storage...

Connected to Input 2.
I would use it just to feed some pre-recorded material to FOH. No need for my guitar to go through.
The wild card would be to just use the fm3 looper and somehow feed it with pre-recorded material and playback from there. If that's even possible.

I think the Nux loop core stereo ticks all the boxes and is reasonably priced. Stereo output to PA,midi control and usb connection to load your samples.

Our Mr Bungle tribute uses a Roland SPD-SX - in part because there are many samples triggered by our drummer, and it's convenient to trigger with drumsticks - and it works great.

But if you're looking for smaller or cheaper options, there are smaller hardware sample players, including some small keyboards that can plan samples, depending on how much memory/duration you need. An app on your phone is likely the cheapest option.

Boss rc-5 works great (probably the best you can get in the lower price range with MIDI control) . One caveat, the play start is a MIDI toggle so if you go this route I would recommend having the Fractal load the sample you want but use the pedal itself to kick off playing the sample. I tried a few things to automation the full process but it was pretty wonky to get it to auto play consistently.

Wish i had an ipad. This thing can do a lot for music in general but i would also need to carry a sound card to effectively project audio to a mixing console.
It does work on a phone too. You can come right out of the headphones jack and go into a padded line input on your console.

I found out that our bassist and vocalist has an electron model:samples. It will serve live sampling duties. Thank you everyone for your input.

Got one of those, thinking of integrating - did you program the FM9 to send MIDI commands to the RC? Looks doable with some figuring - any other little tips from your experience? Used it before into the PA for Pink Floyd clocks etc,, but outside of the FM9.
