That's very nice of you to write. Mostly I enjoy what I hear in film soundtracks and I'm not really sure who the composers are a lot of the time. I just like the music I hear in some films and I take that feeling with me when I leave the theatre.

Have you had a chance to compare FLAC to the Apple Lossless file format? Reaper gives me the option to render to FLAC so that might be the only way to get higher quality than MP3?

What is M4A?

I have not critically compared FLAC to Apple Lossless, I just use Apple Lossless as I use a Mac... FLAC support is not as widespread as the other formats (yet).

M4A is MPEG 4 Audio, it is the audio standard for the "successor" of MP3... Apple use it for iTunes store. it generally is a higher quality format than MP3 at comparable bit rates. (IMHO)
