Hoping to get amp/cab captures in Fractal gear in the future, does that appeal to anyone?

Here's a more recent quote from him for you:

That was 20 days ago, BTW.
I said above that I have zero use for capturing and fully agree with the statement regarding usability of it.

But whatever I may think, at least three categories of people think otherwise:

1. People who for whatever reason want sound replicas of someone else’s tones - newbies or just folks who find it difficult dialing stuff believe that profiling will make their life easier
2. Big name artists from rig rundown videos use QC increasingly and talk about capturing their tones. While that in itself is useless in and of itself to everyone else, it certainly shapes the market expectations, and you can’t counter that by any arguments
3. “Influencers” pick it all up and talk about capturing as though it’s a must have feature “these days”.

So whatever you think about it, it’s hard to avoid.

Well that wouldn’t be the first time a position changed. Plus a few things changed since then technology wise, not least of them being that neural networks based modeling is claimed to have less aliasing now (not sure how much less). And capturing is working on devices that aren’t super powerful.

Maybe more importantly, there seems to be constant and growing demand for this.
The quote was 20 days ago, but keep hoping if you want.

I'm not attacking profiling/capturing. Just addressing the OP. There are other places to argue the point, but FAS's strength is modeling. There are other companies that will sell you a profiler.

I think fractals should have support for NAM technology. It would be the same as having support for IR files. It's better to have it and not need it (or choose not to use it) than to need it and not have it.
I think it would help some people to migrate to fractal and get a brown sound he likes.
It's just my personal opinion.
It's possible?

But many people get a "brown sound" they like with fractal equipment now.

As soon as a new feature is added, it requires resources. Adding resources to profiling arguably takes away from resources for everything else (unless Cliff plans to expand the business).

A tonex one is cheap. Buy that for the profiles you want, put it in the loop of your FAS unit and go :)

A NAM block has already been discussed at length, Cliff said it wasn't possible with the current hardware.

not interested in captures. I don't have the space and the amps i would like to have to capture and i don't believe in preset or capture made by others. To me is much better the modeling.

This is what I do its great - nice to have options

There are no plans to offer this in the current generation products.

Next-generation products will support NAM.

Perfect timing for me. In the past six months or so I sometimes thought that I have outgrown my FM3 Mk1. Now I am waiting for the new products to drop.
