Help merging two delay blocks

For the longest time, I've been requesting a http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-fx-ii-wish-list/59827-pre-delay.html feature on the Delay block to accommodate what my ears want. Now that I'm out of CPU and absolutely have to merge, I'm completely out of ideas on how to do so. I've tried using the "dual delay" type as well as the Multi-Delay block.

Delay 1:
Type: Stereo Tape
Mix: 100%
Time/FB→Tempo: 1/8
Time/FB→Feedback L & R: modifier→envelope→10%–30%
Time/FB→Ratio: 95%
Tone/Duck→Drive: 4.92
Mod 1→LFO1 Depth: 0%
Mod 2→LFO2 Depth: 0%
EQ→Low Cut: 20Hz
EQ→High Cut: 20,000Hz

Delay 2:
Type: Stereo Tape
Mix: 25%
Time/FB→Tempo: 1/8
Time/FB→Feedback L: modifier→LFO1A→20%–40%
Time/FB→Feedback R: modifier→LFO1A→40%–20%
Time/FB→Ratio: 95%
Tone/Duck→Diffusion: 2%
Tone/Duck→Diff Time: 85%
Mod 1→LFO1 Rate: 2.5Hz
Mod 1→LFO1 Depth: 20%
Mod 2→LFO2 Rate: 1Hz
Mod 2→LFO2 Depth: 20%
EQ→Low Cut: 60Hz
EQ→High Cut: 700Hz

Both delay blocks are in series

Notes:
  1. delay1 exists solely to simulate a pre-delay
  2. drive is only applied to delay1 so that echoes on delay2 do not bleed together with gain
  3. low/high cut on delay1 are set to extreme values so that EQ is not cut twice
  4. delay2's feedback LFOs are not mandatory; they'd be fine at just 30%; I just made the best of my 2-block situation

Here's a link to Yek's wiki on CPU usage. I found many of these tips helpful in getting some of my more involved presets from the 90s down to the 70s.

so what you hear when you play a note is a gap of 1/4 note, then delay repeats at 1/8 notes? (axe fx packed away at the moment)

have you tried the quad series delay? use two taps, set the first to a 1/4 note, the second to an 1/8th note and then use the feedback send and return to just have the 1/8 note tap repeat?

just thinking off the top of my head here...

I actually managed to get a decent clone of it with the Dual Delay.. never could before. It saves some CPU and lets me squeeze in other blocks.

Although, I'm having an issue with panning. Using two Delay blocks, each channel had its own panned feedback, but with the Dual Delay, I'm forced to have them both centred. Is the only way to do that using 2 filter blocks with hard panning?

Any other alternatives to getting this sound in ONE block?

try this

use the mono tape block

set head 1 tempo to 1/4
head 2 ratio to 50%
level 1 to 100%
level 2 to 0%
feedback 1 to 0%
feedback 2 to whatever you like
both pans to 0

that seems to work

not as wide as using the stereo tape, but you get drive and diffusion etc

You could use the phase reverse to widen it, if it is all stereo.

While that gives me the added benefit of controlling the motor speed if I so choose, the echoes after the initial (pre-delay) do not double in speed to 1/8.

Here is my working Dual Delay:
Mix: 25%
Time/FB→Tempo L: 1/8
Time/FB→Feedback L>L: modifier→envelope→10%–30%
Time/FB→Feedback L>R: 50%
Time/FB→Level L: 0%
Time/FB→Pan L: 0
Time/FB→Tempo R: 1/4
Time/FB→Feedback R>R: 0%
Time/FB→Feedback R>L: 0%
Time/FB→Level R: 100%
Time/FB→Pan R: 0
Time/FB→R Time Ratio: 95% dunno if I need this
Tone/Duck→Drive: 4.92
Tone/Duck→Diffusion: 2%
Tone/Duck→Diff Time: 85%
Mod 1→LFO1 Rate: 2.5Hz
Mod 1→LFO1 Depth: 20%
Mod 2→LFO2 Rate: 1Hz
Mod 2→LFO2 Depth: 20%
EQ→Low Cut: 60Hz
EQ→High Cut: 700Hz

it works for me. did you set the head 2 ratio to 50%

i hear a 1/4 note gap followed by 1/8 note taps

don't forget that adding modifiers to parameters also uses cpu. if you can get away with removing one or two, you'll save even more. dunno if you're using cab blocks, but switching from hi res to low res makes a massive difference in cpu usage and i can't really tell the difference.
