Is there a way you can clear your cache memory (browser memory first, of course) and re-enter your website PWs to see if the cleared memory might enable the FM9-Edit to work quicker? With Windows, you might also need to do a hard drive defragmenter, so as to organize and save on HD memory...sometimes if either cache or HD is "full" or "disorganized" putting things in order can help improve a computer's performance...

Although I'm no techie, that, plus a restart, might be the smart thing to do...short of calling tech support and asking how to help lagging applications work better...
I rebooted the FM9 and now it's fairly normal. About 1 second to register a change of bypass, or change preset etc. Could've been a background process running on my PC idk. But it does seem to slow down over time. If the occasional reboot fixes it, then its not a big deal.

The 1 s lapse is about what my FM9-Edit does, between 0.5 and 1 s communication time while saving. You can see the FM9-Edit performing the save function across the base of the FM9-Edit window...it's relatively a short time span compared to the 30 seconds you had described previously...if your system is problematic, I'd personally try and be proactive instead of letting it get the best of you. IIRC, there's no written rule that says you need allow 30 seconds wait time to process a save function. That in itself might not be the right way of approaching things.

I'd prefer to think of what solutions were possible regards a slow processor. If it were my computer, I'd do whatever was necessary to insure my computer's smooth operation. I'd run anti-malware, delete browser history and a defrag if it were a Windows system.

If you've got apps running in the background, you might try to learn what they are that's slowing down your FM9-Edit runtime. My simple guess is to not lose sight of what's important to you. Whether it's your system's performance, or any other facet of your workflow, a little preventive maintenance goes a long way against incurring future issues.

imo if your still using a spindle based hd, you need to use disk check from time to time should you have intermittent problems on windows os prior to w10, hds are larger now so plenty of room not to worry about defraging

On an i7-based machine, I'd doubt very seriously if the computer has anything to do with it.
It's been quite a few years since I used a Windows-based machine, so you can tell if my knowledge of processors/HD is somewhat behind the ball.

Since 2006, I've preferred Apple, and not need worry about system defrags.

Only thing I can say is if one clears their browser history one might see system performance improvement...

I’m no computer expert but if your browser history can slow down your whole system, you need a new system hahaha.

Seems like a strange drum to bang. Many others have also reported the editor running slowly.

Uh, not sure exactly why. And TBH, my editor lags between 0.5 and 1 seconds. If that's all anyone is experiencing, it's not a lot to worry about.

Clearing browser history does clear some of cache memory and will improve system performance. Just thought to toss that out there in case anyone might need some help with their system, but not try fix what's not broken...

The tuner is so choppy / slow to update that it is almost unusable on a noisy stage. I really hope they address this in the forthcoming update. I’m playing acoustic guitar today and all I have in the preset are a reverb and a delay block and the issue is still there so I know it is not a CPU usage issue.

Can't wait for 3.0, not that I'm hating having a full Axe FX III/FC-12 main rig, and an FM-9/FC-6 backup/church rig!

Honestly I don't have any issues at all with my FM9...

... except for the damn tuner. It's so freakin' painful to use compared to the Axe's tuner (hell even the FM3 tuner feels better to use).

Try getting your preset over 80 percent cpu then gauge your lag. Mines about 5 seconds at times.
Heh, I personally try to keep my CPU below 74% knowing of the dreaded red warning light that stops FM9 performance. Thankfully, I just don't use a kitchen sink preset that might bump things up to over that level, so no worries with lag time currently.

My honest advice is simply to create extra scenes with lower CPU draw instead of bundling them together with higher CPU. Problem solved.
