Bug? FM9 Edit Crashes

Ok so no. It appears when I followed those steps I was unable to crash FM9 Edit.
But, as soon as I switched to the Marco Fanton GoT preset (p:370) I was immediately able to crash it.

Edit: Should I censor my serial number?

I don't have my machine on right now but go to that preset and click "controllers" on top left of EDIT and go down to modifiers and is there any modifiers controlling anything? I am wondering if maybe that is an issue and if there is, remove them if you know how and then try?

Yes, there were two modifiers but it still crashed after I removed them.

Dang! I am running out of ideas! I am assuming at this point it's definitely a MAC issue with your machine considering no one can get this to happen elsewhere.

Another idea, which may be stupid but no idea is stupid i guess right? lol. Try a different USB cable. Considering this is how fm9 and computer listens to each other with edit... So maybe worth a try?

Nope, still crashing :(
Im crashing lol. I have no idea wtf is going on.

Im thankful it's nothing crucial, but definitely strange.

Did you do a complete system reset on your fm9 yet? Maybe it's worth a try? Backup anything if you have anything worthy to back up with edit.

Also have you tried reverting back to last firmware and check if it does it then for you?

I think if these 2 options definitely don't fix it, it's possible an issue with MAC for sure or your computer.

That would imply that it is an issue with the FM9 itself rather than the editor, ya? For sure a possibility but I'm already on the side that it's more likely the editor or my computer.

Having said that, I literally just wiped/reformatted my Mac and reinstalled almost everything just about 2 weeks ago. So my machine should be just about as fresh as you can get.

I mean if doing what I suggested above doesn't fix the problem then it's MAC or your computer which is the issue. However if it does fix the issue then it's definitely something that was messing up via hardware, firmware etc.

I will have to try that when I get some free time. At this point I've kind of given up :(

I have some time to try rolling back some firmware. Do you suggest I do a factory reset on the FM9 and then go back to the stable 8.x FW? Is it as simple as installing the FW the same as any other?

You can reload a previous firmware the same as a new one.

However, all presets saved under a newer firmware will appear as empty under the older version (they are still there just not visible).

Thanks, since the factory preset #370 (and I'm sure others, sorry Marco!) can trigger it constantly, I will be able to use that preset. Which brings up another question - will I need to load the 8.0 factory preset bundle, or will that load automatically?

Rolling the FW to 8.01 I was able to crash it immediately with P:351 'Plex Verb 8 FM9' (from the factory presets 7p0)

Going to try rolling the editor back and try that, but doesn't seem likely.

Edit: It doesn't look like I am able to download the previous FM9 Edit versions.

The editor is backwards compatible to fw version 3.0.
