FM9 Case?

My Gator GK-2110 case arrived yesterday and my FM9 arrives today, so we will see about the fit. I plan on using it exclusively at home, so I didn't need something like the bag from Studio Slips.
It arrived today. It's a little big but I'm going to order the padded slip cover and only use it around the house.
Also shown, the little bag for my VP-4. 20250530_174334.jpg20250530_174945.jpg

I have one like that and for the price are fine but in the end I was not very convinced in the way it protected the FM9, to keep it at home and if you have it handy in the car for example in the back seat is ok, but if you have to put it in the trunk or with other equipment a harder box is what will give you more protection, so I ended up buying the Gator Cases for the Helix Floor and also I had space to accommodate an exp pedal and cables, plus with the wheels is not the same as carrying it.

My humble opinion, the Studio Slips are a bit expensive…the G66 Gig Bag for FM9 is really good and the price is reasonable…

Is it possible to source the G66 bag in the USA?

-Aaron
Try to contact them, they usually answer very fast, Suzy Isler is very friendly and kind…Sometimes they don't have many options listed but when you contact them they find solutions, in my case 10 years ago, I wanted to buy the MFC and they didn't have PayPal enabled for that product however they found a way and I was able to pay everything by PayPal and I received my MFC in 2 days. Maybe they can ship it to US even though they don't have it listed in their shipping selection.

For what you get, agreed. But it's a mixed bag. Pun intended. I actually love my Studio Slips FM3 bag. It's kind of the perfect bag for that unit provided you get the double padding (should be called Bare Minimum Padding). Compact and sturdy. But the only thing going for FM9 bag, even with the double padding, is that it's a perfect fit for the unit. I'd love to find a good solution that doesn't involve fragile pick and pluck foam and a bulky case. Give me a well padded bag with a perfect fit. Studio Slips only hits half that criteria, IME. I have tried the Helix Backpack, which has great padding, but is too big for the FM9. I've also tried the Gator Helix case which is neither a great fit nor has adequate padding for either the Helix or the FM9. I also tried a case from Harbor Freight that I made to fit the unit but the foam fell apart after no more than 3 uses.

Why can't Fractal offer a good bag?

The Gator Cases is a bit big for the FM9, but I put inside the cables, the exp pedal or 2 exp pedals and the Boss FS-6, works well for me, I didn't need more padding (I think), is a case, the plastic covers and the other foam already protects the unit, is not the same in a bag, and I agreed with you about the size of the Helix Backpack, but is fine too...it is very difficult to find perfection in what man creates...that is why the best thing to do is to adapt and if we do not like something, improve it or change it for what we think is best for our needs...If I'll go for a bag I will get the G66...About why Fractal can't offer a good bag...who knows...if it were my case I would subcontract someone to make me the bags as G66 did (point for them 👍👏👌) and it's an addition to the whole range of products: unit, exp pedal and bag, a hook, but well I am not the one who decides the sales strategy or who listens to the needs of customers ...🤷‍♂️

My Rockboard 4.3 with 2 EV-2s and a Shure GLX-D+ wireless unit is now tour-tested and approved - but sadly the only thing this fits in is the soft bag the rockboard arrived in. I also can't seem to find any pelicases for this form-factor, factoring in the height the board has with the fm9 on top. Does anyone EU-based have experience with the custom-case builds of Thomann? Or other vendors maybe?

Thanks guys.

I'm on the hunt for the best hardshell, live-in (ie take the top off and start playing) case for my FM9 (without EV pedal). I have one for my Helix, by Gator, but it's a bit big for my Fractal. Any suggestions?

Do you mind showing how the expression / cables fit?

I took a shot on the Newark case mentioned earlier in this thread. It doesn’t have every bell and whistle, but it’s a great deal on a hard shell case (I paid $75 total).

It closes tightly with no button clicks. I haven’t yet decided how to configure the bottom layer of foam but the top section is holding the fm9 nicely.

I'm looking for something more along the lines of this, where you take the lid off, plug in your lines, and you're ready to go (this one is in the UK and I'm looking for something in North America): fm9 case.jpgfm9case2.jpg

I love the hardshell case from Gator...It's a bit big for FM9 like you said (and heavy), but is fine, for the FM9 with the Exp Pedal, I think fits nice...but if you're looking for something small...I just bought the other from Gator, the plastic one, for the moment...in a future I will get the hardshell case, for plane and tour looks very strong and robust...in a band that I used to play, the singer has a Boss RC-300 Loop station with a hardshell case, very similar to Gator's, and we tour with that with all other cases for the drums and amps, nothings happens, even once the water got into the trunk of the bus where the other things were, it didn't even know about it, we were scare of it coz outside was wet...but when we open...nothing...
