Man I need to upgrade from fw 5.02. Should I get 8.0 or 9 beta? I really wish 9 official would come out already. Been a grip

FW 8.00 has been rock solid for me. It is a huge step up from FW5.02 ... gapless switching, new amps and pedals - well worth it.

That said, FW 9 can't be too far off now, and it should be a step up again

When changing the display mode of the Input block gate from Advanced to Easy, the CPU usage drops by ~1%, but the behavior of the gate doesn't change in a way I can reliably perceive. It is consistent with Classic and Intelligent modes assuming the Threshold is above "off".

Is this how it is supposed to be? Which Attack and Ratio are used when the block is in Easy mode?

The answer is "yes". When switching on a high-gain/noisy presets, the settings also change between Easy and Advanced mode. Ratio value seems to go back to 2. Not sure why CPU usage changes though.

Mega. Maybe I missed it but what changed with the 100W Plexi and 1959SLP? They sound brighter/more raucous but what specifically?

Sounds like FW 9.0 beta 1 is bricking some FM3’s. Staying on FW 8

I was going to address the OP’s comment when it was initially posted, but decided I wouldn’t be able to be as diplomatic about it and would cause some sort of kerfuffle. I suppose the OP probably used “bricking” in the wrong sense, or at least how I, and I imagine you understand it to mean. IOW, “boat anchor” AKA “worthless”.

The lesson to learn is think before you speak or in this case write.

tried everything, reinstalling, clean install. Everything but my dyna-cabs ain't listing. Anyone any ideas why?

Are you trying to install the official firmware or the beta? What firmware were you upgrading from?

I've kept up to date, regularly. And just from fractal bot. Official firmware.

So just to understand correctly. You have already installed a Firmware with Dyna Cabs and they were showing and working properly. The problem with no dyna cabs has just occurred after trying to do this last upgrade? Did you update after firmware? Are you getting a warning when on boot up that you need to install dyna cabs?

I refreshed after new firmware and all good. Thanks for trying to help

When I wrote “update after firmware” I meant to say “Refresh After New Firmware”. Glad you got it.
