I updated from FW11 to FW12 (FM3 MkII), and yes, i installed the latest FM3 Editor (v1p07p15), and yes, i do a "Refresh after new firmware".What firmware did you update from?
There's nothing in the release notes regarding a change like this.
I haven't updated yet so I can't confirm.
Do you have the latest editor and did you run Refresh After New Firmware?
You only need to soft reset the amps if release notes instruct you to do it.A question: its necessary to soft reset the amp after applying this update?
It didn't work in the beta, but seems to work just fine in the release. There have been multiple posts stating that it's not working.
I thought FAS previously stated the release notes would specify when it was required.A question: its necessary to soft reset the amp after applying this update?
Yes, it’s normal. Usually you can use the „upgrade all presets“ function on the unit under setup-utilities-preset.
Tried it again, no worky. IIRC when running "upgrade all presets" it opens every preset visibly on the unit and saves it. It doesn't on mine. Nothing happening and greyed out numbers after. It takes 1min 20s, supposed to take like 10 mins.haven't seen a greyed number after directly using "upgrade all presets"
It didn’t open each preset for sure, just showed a scroll bar showing preset numbers.Tried it again, no worky. I think I'll reload the FW. Haven't tried that yet.
A RAR file is not readable by FractalBot.I solved it.
For some strange reason, after updating to firmware 12 in Fractal Bot, it wouldn't let me install the Dynacabs. To fix the problem, I ran FM3 Edit and read all the blocks (the Dynacabs weren't being read in the CAB section). Then I closed FM3 Edit and tried again with Fractal Bot, and the program performed the update normally.
So, if this happens to anyone else, I've basically updated the firmware = run FM3 Edit with block reading = updated Dynacabs.
Thanks to the interceptor for his help.
A question: its necessary to soft reset the amp after applying this update?
The Release Notes should tell us if it's required...I thought FAS previously stated the release notes would specify when it was required.
EDIT: Just refreshed my memory on this. A soft reset is suggested anytime the amp models have been updated. But I do recall FAS previously stating it would be explicitly said with a release when it is necessary (this happened when this feature was first added and caused much confusion). You can find more details on the Wiki on the Amp Block page. You can always do it "just because".
What exactly are you asking?Hi all,
I would like to use the metronome function via midi remote. I set it to CC110. In general it works but I can only toggle the on/off state of the metronome.
Is there any way to enable/disable the metronome by sending specific value?
Some people prefer to keep copies of the firmware they install...on releases there is no need to manually download anything. fractal bot does that for you.
Thing is, not all presets are greyed out. I can't really figure why some are and others aren't.It didn’t open each preset for sure, just showed a scroll bar showing preset numbers.
The time it takes depends on how many actual presets you have, empty ones go faster.
Then you haven't verified the one you downloaded is good...me too, but later.

Take a peek at your Input Block... it might be spiking there. I had to adjust mine a little while back.I don't know if it's a bug, but here goes; I updated (from FW 8) to Beta 12, now 12, and some weird crackling started to appear - sometimes at the end of a fading chord, sometimes on the initial strum - sort of like a broken cable. I tried changing all the cables, and started to worry if somehow I'd broken the FM3 (MK1). On a whim I tried building a new patch from scratch, and it seems like the problem is gone - but it remains on all my existing presets. Anybody else experience this?
