FM3 Firmware Version 12.0

I always have a little anxiety when updating. I've never had a problem so not sure why. I updated from 9.01 to 12 and the process was flawless. Everything sounds great. I'm particularly impressed with the Virtual Capo. So good. The 'update all presets' feature worked for me, just as an FYI. Thanks FAS!

I don't know if it's a bug, but here goes; I updated (from FW 8) to Beta 12, now 12, and some weird crackling started to appear - sometimes at the end of a fading chord, sometimes on the initial strum - sort of like a broken cable. I tried changing all the cables, and started to worry if somehow I'd broken the FM3 (MK1). On a whim I tried building a new patch from scratch, and it seems like the problem is gone - but it remains on all my existing presets. Anybody else experience this?
I’ve experienced the same on my bass preset, but I thought it was an amp setting I set wrong because I was fiddling with the preset at this time. I’ll have a second listen tomorrow and see if I can get closer to the reason.

Check your gate settings.

From what I recall fast attack and fast release can contribute.

Worst case bypass/disable gates and see if it goes away.

Thing is, not all presets are greyed out. I can't really figure why some are and others aren't.
This unit is a new Turbo, it doesn't have all of my old homemade presets, only the factory 10.0 that I loaded when I got it and just a couple homemade for current gigs.
So from the factory presets some are black and some are greyed. I'll investigate some more.
I did a new download of FW 12.00 from Fractal website FM3 Downloads page. Installed it with the Edit Fractal Bot, turned Edit off while the FM3 was flashing the code. Turned FM3 off for 10 sec. Back on, ran "Update All Presets", bar took about 2.5 mins. Still a great many greyed presets, some not greyed, I can't see any reason why. Nothing special about either.

I updated from FW11 to FW12 (FM3 MkII), and yes, i installed the latest FM3 Editor (v1p07p15), and yes, i do a "Refresh after new firmware".
In the screenshots, you can see that the Bass Response control is present for PiFuzz-Triangle, PiFuzz-Russian, and PiFuzz-Ram's Head in FW11.
Also, the Dry Level control is removed in fw12.

Can anyone still running FW10 or FW11 confirm this?

Currently, I'm having trouble getting the same sound with the Big Muffs as I did with FW11, and I'm considering switching back to FW11.
The Bass Response control did nothing in previous firmware. It wasn't supposed to be there, therefore it was removed.

Sorry, I'm confused, but it can't be true that it did nothing. I used it a lot and the control worked exactly the same way it still works on the Rat Distortion for example.

The Bass Response control did nothing in previous firmware for the PI Fuzz models because there was nothing for it to control. It wasn't supposed to be there, therefore it was removed.
