FM3 @Bass

I went from a Genzler head and Bergantino cab to the FM3 and love it.

My band is ampless onstage and uses full IEM setups and the FM3 does not disappoint.

Austin Buddys pack will get you some great sounds quickly. If you are building your own sounds, Celestion digital has fantastic Bass IRs and Bergantino IRs as well. Dr Bonkers is a another place for great bass IRs.

The FM3 is quite possibly the best possible bass multi-fx you can buy. The compression, EQ, FX, reverbs are all best-in-class.
+1.

Some bass players want full dynamics with a clean tone, so tube amp sims are not ideal.
If you want full dynamics from the Amp block, dial the gain way down, and make up the volume with the Level parameter.

Not an issue for me, but if I wanted a bass amp sim, I'd probably just mock one up using EQ.
Totally workable. The FM3 makes a killer DI box, too. :)

I would 3rd, 4th, 5th the bass packs from Austin. I have a main bass preset I use when I occasionally sub as a bass player on friend's gigs. (I'm a bass owner, not a bass player). But his bass packs are great "drop in" presets I've used for a lot of studio recording sessions.
