Epic 80's Song that needs recognition

I'm always a bit on the fence about the remastered tracks just because of the nostalgia thing, but in many cases they are indeed better. I really enjoy the 2007 remastered Ratt:

That was another thing about band names...if you didn't have Xs, you had to double up a consonant at the end of it or throw in an umlaut somewhere!

Totally agree - almost universally, I dislike re-recorded tracks, but for some reason, in this particular case with Dokken - I find the recorded tracks on that compilation better - could be the originals had not settled enough into my consciousness.

I remember sitting up late on weekends recording head bangers ball from mtv, then returning later try to play along with many of these, scratching my head thinking wtf???

This song hit me the first time I heard it. It was only played on WHFS. They were "alternative" before it was a genre.

While actually a 70s artist, this band and it's lead (Ian Curtis - RIP) had a big influence on what would come a bit later in the early 80s. Many new wave fans at the time (and now) probably never knew they existed. Though, I listened to a fair amount of post punk new wave in the 80s, I didn't know their story until many years later when I went through a period of refascination with British new wave and watched the bio film "Control". Ian was mesmerizing live.
