I have so many, but it's definitely high on my list too. I remember recording (as in, making a cassette tape copy of it) just that song as a kid, I liked it so much.Grey Seal - my #1 EJ song.
One of my favorite songs back then was the one the bass player, Bruce Hall sang, Back on the Road Again. And Gary Richrath was such an underrated guitarist. Lotta fire in his playing style.When R.E.O. Speedwagon was actually good (for me it kind of felt like they took a turn for the worse in 1984 with 'Wheels Are Turnin'').
HELL yeah!! I was a kid in the 70's, growing my 45 collection (which I still have!) One of THE most epic songs ever...
He has a live version from The Midnight Special, but even though this is only the music, I think his guitar solo is better in the one we knew from Frampton Comes Alive.
This song comes on my Pandora when I'm driving, and I'm always amazed at how good the production is for a song from the 70's, especially the bass:
I really like songs that sort of break the mold. Here's one that's been covered very well by some, but I can't get around the original.
