Except some opinions are more important then others. It may not be any more valid, but fame does make people more willing to listen.

Gotta' take articles like that with a grain of salt. Personally I would be more inclined to say 'guitar amps' just don't get it and they're 'not' getting close. So limited in versatility, noisy, recording hassles, transport and connectivity pains, limited upgradeability, expensive to own even a small fleet, FX implementation limited, full of hassles, lack of stereo, etc.

I have sold every amp and outside effect I have excepting a ditto pedal because IMHO they just aren't relevant anymore beyond inspiring their replacement.
