Def Leppard's Hysteria tones

Anyone have a few patches they've built based off the Hysteria album?

If not, does anyone have an idea of the effects those guys were using during that time period, I'm a little intrigued by their rhythm sounds from that album as they sound pretty simple but i know they were heavily processed all the same.

Thanks,

A

One word: ROCKMAN

Years ago I did some session work for a producer who had very briefly as an engineer worked on Hysteria (they went through tons of them). Being a huge fan of this album's sounds myself I obviously tried to get as much infos as possible. It turned out that they used modded Rockmans exclusively. Apparently they used the same mod Billy Gibbons used. What that mod was ? No idea  ....

No real amp can do those sounds in my opinion. There's a very special 'plastic' character about Rockmans which works really great with doubling or in the case of the Hysteria album, having uncountable amounts of guitars in a song.

I've been 'begging' Cliff to model a Rockman and especially the clean setting....

I have been working in two presets, one in the 90's Def Leppard's wave and the other based in the vintage sound from the Pyromania album.

If you was interested, the presets uploaded to axechange :)

Hey, Thank you very much for these patches!!! They are spot on! I know they took a lot of tweaking but you nailed these. Great work.

Cheers!!

kurzweiler,

One word... "DAMN!" You did a phenomenal job on that Pyromania one. I played a couple bars of "Too Late for Love" with my volume knob turned down and I just stared at the Axe-FX in awe. You seriously nailed that sucker from what I recall. Great work and thanks for sharing!

Regards,
Jeff

Wow, I think you nailed it too... From my memory it sounds totally Def Leppard! Nice job. I'm gonna check out those patches. Shoot since the Axe FX I am dying for a humbucker guitar more and more....

Those patches sound pretty good with single coils too.

thanks for the congratulations!

I was readjusted the "pyromania" preset after upload firmware 6.04 to my axe and the sound is better!!

put in the cab block to mono Hi-resolution with the 4x12 20W model, and the parameters in the both amps, Warmth at 1.93 and thump at 3.82.

The sound IMO is a bit better :)

regards!!

I would love to download these patches, but the links didn't work for me. Any chance of posting them again? Thanks!
