Its true - I actually had been recording some bass lines through a DI box and was allegedly supposed to be able to get satisfactory tone (especially with a little post processing). Not so. I finally plugged in through the Axe and it was crazy how easy it was to actually dial great bass tone. I had just been looking for something to get some lines written in a scratch track, but within minutes was getting polished sounds that really add flavor to the music as opposed to just filling out the sound with some low end. I'm now pushing my bassist to experiment with this thing.

Sunn, Traynor, Orange, Mesa, Trace Elliot, etc. Lots of really great valve bass heads out there. All with their own subtle nuances.
