Axe-Fx III Firmware 32.02 Release

Hmmm... I haven't played around with it and my ears are not refined enough to perceive any difference anyways... But I'm a bit puzzled by the various posts reporting great things about the oversampling, versus Cliff's own comment (which I personally interpreted as "if anything, oversampling degrades quality, and we do it only to have the specs that customers who don't know any better are looking for, erroneously"). Note that Cliff's actual statement may have flown right over my head, so my interpretation is worth nothing. But the point is: is this oversampling actually beneficial, and even audible?

Not singling you out, guitarzan, just using your comment as a springboard to express my puzzlement.
I did a null test on it here (preset attached to that post) which seemed to confirm my own perception of there being very little audible difference wrt the drive oversampling feature on its own (tho not to say I would not hear more audible differences with drive / amp combinations other than the ones I've tested so far).

You seemed to have used a single drive into a clean amp, i expect it to be more present when you stack drives, or use drive/boost with a gainy amp, when the 'aliasing' gets boosted and/or distorted. But i'm not an expert by any means, so patiently waiting to get corrected ;)

I don't recall saying that. If I did say something like that you may have misinterpreted things.

Do you have a link to the post of Cliff's you're talking about?

I suspect this is the post they’re referring to:

Post in thread 'Axe-Fx III Firmware 32.02 Public Beta #2 (Beta 3)'
https://forum.fractalaudio.com/thre...2-02-public-beta-2-beta-3.219420/post-2764030

Personally, I suspect Cliff could post a new firmware version with absolutely no changes, and half of us would rave about how much better it sounds, and the other half would complain about how it ruined their favorite thing. 😆

I can’t keep up with all of these upgrades. Sometimes I feel like, did it sound better before or not? F**k! But I guess I’m not the only one. And I’ve always backupped.

Anyways,

Thanks for the great gear!!💪🏼

The oversampling feature will be available in the preamp block boost?
Thanks
In the editor, under setup, there's an Oversampling Mode. Mine is set to Best Quality. I don't think that's the one we are talking about here. I can't find a Drive block that has an "Oversampling" tab or choice, and I have looked... Im sure that's my fault and is frustrating.

Highlight the drive block in the grid and then select the tab labeled "Advanced". Oversampling is in the lower right (see screen shot):

Did you update the editor and Refresh After New Firmware?
