Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Notes

32.01

Added Dry Diffusion control to Delay block. This allows adjusting the dry diffusion separate from the wet diffusion.

Added Delay controls to Mixer block. This allows adding up to 64 samples of delay to each signal. This can be used to compensate for latency when routing things in parallel.

Fixed turning Gain up to 10 in some amp models can cause Amp block to crash.

Fixed an issue with the Euro Uber model where certain values of Depth combined with certain speaker impedance curves can cause a crash.

Added checking for invalid/duplicate modifiers (which can be caused by 3rd-party apps) during preset recall and removes them.

This addition of sample delay compensation to the Mixer block is HUGE.

I recall being part of that recent Uber impedance curve conversation, that is also good.

Another reason FAS proves they are the best - the firmware update consistency and user feedback relationship. Stellar work Cliff and company.

for what specific scenarios is this needed? I run A TON (7!) of parallel effects and also one lane with drive+amp and another lane with only amp.

Nice! Micro Delay! Thank you very much Fractal.

But now I'm in need of some education from the community: How might I calculate the latency from a Parallel Row or Outboard Gear?

I find this very interesting and would like to understand exactly what the diffusion of the dry signal refers to. I struggle to understand how a dry signal can be manipulated, because then it wouldn't be dry anymore. Or perhaps I'm simply not grasping the concept and what this new function actually does.

No need to calculate. Just adjust until the audible timing issue disappears (comb filtered 'phasey' sound).

No need maybe....but average values would still be informative. I'm with Vittorio that it would be great to have an idea of expected average latency for different blocks.

Obviously you can't account for every iteration (all drive types in Drive block for example) but a general idea of "Drive Block" latency would be helpful. Same holds for other blocks that would reasonably be run in parallel.

Just my opinion....

Whoa!!! I was hoping for something like this for aligning a Bass DI and processed Bass chain! Is this the idea of that to be able to align two separate signals?

Woohoo, I'm thrilled with this bit:
