I am going to say "Thank you", even though I only own an FM3!!! :) :)

When you look at other "companies" nobody comes close to Fractal Audio for their ability to constantly improve things and give them to us free of charge (and yet some people still twist their faces and complain, moan and groan...)(I am not saying it in this instance, but I have seen it over time). I am chomping at the bit to buy myself a used AXE 3 but holding back just in case something new comes out in 2026. And then if funds allow I will go for the new product.

But even if I don't buy anything I suspect that the new additions here will find their way down to my good old FM3 soon enough with an update.

Christmas is just around the corner, but whether it be January, Feb, March or April Fractal has the gift's that they just keep giving. :)

Think about that in a fortnight's (or there abouts) time as you unwrap a pair of socks that Santa has dropped down your chimney, and you lie through your teeth with a, "These are just what I have been wanting, they are fantastic,oh, and one for each foot*, they will match all of the other ones in the drawer in the bedroom, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" And then quietly smile to yourself, think about your guitar tones and without even moving your lips, say , "Thank you Fractal, thank you Cliff and your marvellous team for all of your hard work and for making people's life's a better place and for giving me the best guitar tone's that I have ever experienced ".

* I do understand that some folk out there will only need one sock or in some cases no socks. If that is you, you can change the sock present to something like a pair of underpants.

Every day is a Christmas day when I plug my guitar in, but I am going to repeat my thank you and wish Cliff and his team a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Not sure what changes affected my XTC patch but it sounds great on this beta...
No more attention was given to those models than any others. I don't give much credence to things said on forums. Sound is far too subjective. Just look at this forum: "it sounds too bright", "it sounds too dark", "too much midrange", "not enough midrange".

The ONLY thing that matters to me is how the models compare to the real amps.

All the amps benefit from the new algorithms. And the models compare better than ever to the real amps. The new algorithms add considerable "punch". I won't go into details about what I discovered but was doing some tests and noticed something that the amp was doing that the model wasn't. After some investigation I discovered the reason and reworked the algorithms to model it.

The so-called "Class-A" amps (AC-30, Tiny Terror, etc.) also greatly benefit from the new algorithm. Amps with cathodyne PIs (Deluxe, Princeton, etc.). are also much improved.

Fixed wrong bias point in Band-Commander model.
I am curious to know what this means. Does this mean that, something was done incorrectly translating the amp design into the digital domain (meaning - Cliff and Team were wrong...and the amp has been incorrect all along) or a bug/issue in the model itself that could have been introduced over time? I don't mean to be an arse here; I am only curious.

I'd be more curious to know what effect this change has on the sound or feel, rather than who made the mistake.
I don't see what knowing the latter contributes to the community...

As a software developer that used to work on an appliance, I love seeing consistent updates and new features being brought to existing hardware. I have wanted an Axe FX since the Ultra days, but I only recently finally purchased the Axe FX III Mark II turbo and I am so happy. I once owned a TC Electronics G System that NEVER received a single update after I purchased it.

mel brooks we aint found shit GIF

But you keep finding improvements 🤘
Thank you for the continual efforts to make the best even better Cliff!

I've been onboard the Fractal Audio ecosystem for 11+years and going nowhere else
Cheers

That comb vs. pick scene in Spaceballs made my dad and I laugh every damn time🤣🤣🤣

How the Fractal amp modeling algorithm can still continue to improve is completely over my head. I don’t have access to my III atm, so I’ll have to wait for the FM9 update. Oh boy, that changelog looks hot 🥵

Last weekend I introduced a friend to my workhorse Marshall preset I’ve been building for the past two years or so. He said it was hands down the best guitar sound he’s ever played and just couldn’t put his guitar down. The funniest thing is that his exact same real Marshall 2203 amp was sitting behind him.

”There’s no way I can get my rig to sound this good” he told me, and started asking how much my FM9 costs and if he should just sell his analog gear. I’ve finally managed to get a fantastic room mic sound (revised Cab block Room ftw!!!) blended with a close-mic with some less commonly used speaker impulses. The result is something I’ve tried to achieve for 10+ years. I’ll post a sample as soon as I’m not drowning in work (soon I hope).

Anyway, that was with the previous firmware (or even the one before that?). Super excited to hear whether I can improve my sound even further — especially since I’m already extremely happy with it.

I updated but my most recent preset didn't make it. I saved the changes to Axe before I updated. I didn't save the preset though. Thankfully it's a variation of a previous preset. BUT here's what's weird - the preset says "EMPTY". Yet the FC-12 has the name of the preset.

Why is that important to you? Did you never like the Band-Commander before and thought that something was off?
