Axe-Fx III Firmware 27.03 Public Beta

For me, these are by far the best and most fun fuzz tones in my many years of playing an Axe-Fx.
I also think that those of you who were just talking about the Univox style fuzz will also fine the Ram's head VERY satisfying.
When will these FX be available in a fm9? I had one of the orange colored color sound od boosters. In fact a friend of mine still has it. I put it in a closure along with a true bypass loop for additional pedals back in 78

Okay something's definitely changed with the Plexi 2204 in this beta! Here's a short clip I made to show the difference:

The first half is the Plexi 2204 in FW 27.02, the second (starts mid-way at around 12seconds) is the current beta. Both tracks were reamped from a DI I recorded in my DAW straight from the Axe. The preset (attached below) is also fairly simple: IN USB, AMP, CAB, OUT. Used an ML Sound Labs IR so can't share that but I am attaching the preset below in case that helps, but nothing's changed between both firmwares.

The amp settings are:
Gain 5
Bass 10
Mids 10
Treble 10
MV 5

Every other parameter is unchanged in the amp block.

Also, the image of the waveform in the DAW clearly shows there's a difference but of course one can clearly hear it anyway:

There was a mistake in the model before that was corrected for this firmware. The model had a 500K resistor across the Drive pot that shouldn't have been there. This made the gain greater for a given knob position than it should've been.

That’s awesome to know! The model now sounds bluesier compared to the other 2204 and the 2203.

I thought I'd wait for the release version... but now I can't wait)))

I'm soooo grateful to have the new Big Muffs. However, the "Green Russian" is my favorite to get close to that Pulse or DSOT sound. I wonder how close we can get to the Green Russian/Civil War Muff using just the parameters in the new models. Any thoughts?

Honestly I don't recall cuz a few years have passed and I tried to open up the pedal but there's no code printed on them...

They surely are germanium, my memory tells me D9E (we have them in the axe) but I'm really not sure about that, all I remember was that even just exchanging their position (4 of the same type I mean) altered the tone quite dramatically, so probably the forward voltage of the diode is more important than the type itself.

Nope... I only have an fm9

A Russian Big Muff has already been modeled for the next release. It has a much different sound. More bassy and mellower.

Amazing you caught that !!! Great Ears man!

Would it ever be possible to "manually" change the naming of amps/pedals for the device to match the originals they model - or to have a tooltip text to describe the effect if it indeed models some specific pedal. Probably copyright reasons dictate why they don't match originals to begin with, but just wondering if a tooltip text when hovering over it in edit or a possibility to make a user-based batch change to the names.

Maybe it doesn't make a big difference any case - just an open thought more than a wish. So looking forward to the new muffs!
