Axe-Fx III Firmware 25.04 Release

@nojyeloot I verified your bug report and also reproduced it after performing Reset System Parameters.

Summary: The TAP function of external stand-in switches does not work while there is a HOLD function. If you assign a HOLD function, it works, but the TAP function still does not.
Thank you, it saved me the evening!

I realized the problem during the sound check ... and as these switches are essential in my configuration, I was very annoyed!

I deleted the hold functions to have access to the tap functions that are very important in my configuration.

Without that, I would have had a complicated show tonight ...

I hope it will be repaired quickly

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Notes

25.04

Improved cathode follower algorithm. This results in a more open and dynamic response for models that use a cathode follower.

Updated Plexi 100W and 1959SLP models. A soft reset of the Amp block is required to load the new default values.

Updated phase inverter parameters for many amp models.

Fixed Per-preset switches with "Preset" functions now correctly trigger Layout Links in all cases: tap/hold, normal/stand-in.
Loving FW 25 this is a huge upgrage thank you Cliff

Possible bug.
I updated from 25.03 to 25.04 and downloaded burgs latest patch that he made for 25.04. I loved the 1959 scene so much that I copied and pasted the amp channel and cab channel into my main preset. I bypassed every block other than amp and cab in both presets. Burgs preset is a little thicker sounding than mine even though I copied and pasted the amp and cab.
ANY ideas?

Did you try a hard reset on the amp block and then load Burg's amp? Just a suggestion to see if it does anything. Oddly enough, I have always battled what you describe. I have a few presets for the 2204 for that very reason. Some are thicker than others despite having every parameter the same. You could make a copy of his preset and then add your own effects to it.

Can you post your preset?

Check the channels. Pasting does not set the channel as it was in the source preset.

Good idea, I've encountered that one before, but I was just copying ang pasting an individual channel not the entire block. I quadruple checked that I was on the correct amp and cab.

After a short absence from guitar playing...I'm back and loving this new FW. My Marshalls are sounding amazing again! though on a few presets of mine when I engage the drive block in front of some of these Marshalls I'm getting some squealing. Maybe just need to adjust the overall gain or something and should test with my other guitars.
edit: user error. I had way too much input gain coming in via my signal chain hitting a Neve insert in my Apollo. Turned the preamp down. problem solved.

The Smallbox with the SM57 and 1973 5153 DynaCabs misaligned and and unbalanced is some of the most tough / badass, dynamic, and rockin' tone I've ever heard. I was using that today to match by ear Rabea Massaad's YouTube demo of the new Friedman Plex amp. Holy Smokes. I realize that getting a great tone has nothing to do with accuracy, so I'm saying outright I'm just trusting in the accuracy, and wth that my tone is just on fire. My sincere thanks.

Preset or it didn't happen.
If you want to of course :)

Clips, he means clips

Haha! No problem. 🙂 My default for presets is always feeling like no one will give a shit. To me presets are damn near meaningless unless the signal going into your unit is similar to that of the preset creator. That said, I'm happy to post, again if anyone gives a shit; I'll get that out in just a little bit here. I also imagine that a preset made to balance my relatively shrill Sun Valley Super Shredder will make a Les Paul, e.g., sound like mud!

For clips, those I think are useful always, and I always forget! I'm just now remembering someone asked for clips when I got this guitar, and I never made any. I've put my guitar up for the time being to get back to work, but I'll try to remember! I can at least post the preset in the meantime...

Appreciate the interest!
