Legacy Axe-FX II: SRV - Little Wing FW11 (SECOND ATTEMPT)

Here you go... now, keep in mind this is going to sound a bit weird. Reverb is a huge part of SRV's sound, not because of him adding the effect, but because he was so bleeding loud ALL the time, room ambience WAS part of his sound.

Wow - It anything this dry clip highlights the delicateness of your touch and power of your vibrato etc. You must have seriously been channelling Mr. SRV... Serious skills man - I take my hat off to you...

Thank you kindly good sir.

I have a 2012 American Standard Tele which apparently is a lot more Strat-like than other Teles. I'm interested to see if through TM I can get a convincing SRV sound.

I will report back on how this goes.

Wow!! Damn that was sweet!

Just bookmarked this, it will be my favourite background music at the office for here on in. Now I'm going to have to dust off my Strat and try your patch.

Thank you sir!

very good, very good tone and playing

however, can not upload a patch and cab since new axe edit does not have 'axe manage' enabled. well....

Really nice, Tyler. Not only was it Jimi and SRV inspired but my Landau alarm went off a couple of times too. :D Great! :D

BTW, are those Sennheisers?

Very nice. Impressive and tasteful. So nice to see some soulful playing and vintage tones using the AxeFX. Nothing against the metalheads on this forum, but it's nice to see some variety :-)

I really like your use of octaves. It's something I've never seen in covers of this song. It's reminiscent if Wes Montgomery had lived to give us his take on this song.

WoW Man!!!
what can I say... the tone is perfect... the touch is perfect... and Mr. SRV can be very proud of you!
But... also... that now that Little Wing... is a little bit... your

Nice job TG! And thanks for the patch. :encouragement:

This will come in very handy as I play Little Wing almost every day recently. ;)

Hi I tried this patch first now. I Works great With 17.03 too.
Your tone seems more clear than I can get from my strat, or is the firware changes. I also Wonder what pickups you use in the different parts of the track?
Same amount of drive? Where did you get the backing track?

Great playing!

...its important to note you have to reset BOTH amp blocks when you upload this patch made from an earlier firmware. After you do this, you have to go back and RE-make all the advanced parameter changes I made.

A handy trick I always do is to copy the amp from X to Y (Or Y to X depending on the current active amp) and then select a different amp model and then reselect the correct amp model to reset the amp block. Then I switch back and forth from X to Y to compare what tweaks need to be changed back.

Tyler, if we use this trick, how do we know which advanced parameter defaults changed as part of firmware upgrades and which advanced parameters were the ones that you tweaked to get this tone? I've just upgraded to the latest firmware and I'm keen to update this preset - it's one of my favorites!

This never came up to my mind...I've been passing hours copying manually parameters, sometimes even having to switch back FW of axe and AE...for one or two patches only but still..

Thanks for the idea !

Solid capture of Hendrix spirit. [emoji106]
