someone else confirmed that his Wah XY settings were set to Pedal after updating to 18.03, so i updated my article with info about that:

Possible Bug
When I installed 18.03, I had 18.01 installed previously, so I’m not sure if this affects everyone. In the I/O-CTRL menu on the Front Panel of the Axe-Fx II, the CC#s for Wah 1 X/Y and Wah 2 X/Y were both set to Pedal. These are supposed to be set to 118 and 119, respectively. A System Reset in the Utility menu will fix this and put them to default values, but it will reset much more than just that. So I recommend simply setting these values manually. Just scroll to the entries at the very end of the list, and spin the Value wheel on the Front Panel till Wah 1 X/Y is set to 118 and Wah 2 X/Y is set to 119.

MIDI communication, such as using the MFC-101, may not work correctly if these are set to Pedal.

after loading 18.03, the wrong values, both Wah X/Y set to PEDAL

after setting it manually (or a system reset)

I have an XL and mine were also set to pedal, but I noticed my Rotary 1&2 x/y were already set to 118 and 119, not 125 and 126 like in your picture. So folks may want to make sure they scroll through all of the values to make sure there's no duplicates.

if you came from FW17, that was the behavior when updating to 18 for the first time with the Betas. so i'd guess that's what people will see in general.

the suggested fix is to Reset System Parameters in the Utility menu, but that resets a whole bunch of things like I/O settings, custom tunings, etc. so i recommend just doing it manually.

one of my students seems to be liking 18.03
cos so far.. he's played it more than I have..

I backed up, upgraded, re-backed up, prepped the lesson, he showed up and away we went Lamb of God'ing…
him thru the Axe, me thru the 2120

now… it's my turn.. lol..

As a huge hotroded Marshalls amps, I really enjoy the nee Small box
Model! It does sounds similar to the BE, but it feels kind of more spongier, less tight I'd say. It has maybe just a little bit less gain, but engage the boost or the saturation switch and be prepare to take off!!! Cliff, you are more than welcome to bring some more Marshalls models anytime! There will never be enough!! But thanks again for this one!!

Time for a clean start!

First off thank you FAS for the update, I cannot wait to get my AFX back from my friend....

Second, who on here is taking the 'clean start' approach?? I am nervous but I might do the same... Realistically I have about 10-12 presets I use consistently and I might just nix 'em, start over. Anyone?

Thanks again FAS, so stoked!!

Just lost an hour to the Friedman small box and the new #60 #61 cabs in stereo. Very dynamic, crazy clean up. Dead sexy.

Really great, thank you very much!!!!!!
Especially for bringing back the character controls. Those are a great, easy and fast way to perfectly fine-tune the amp to ones liking. I use them a lot. Also as no two real amps are the same, like this we can tune the differences of the real counterparts as our own is/was.
The factory presets are also great.

Ready to rock! :triumphant: \m/

Many thanks!

This is HUGE ,people have been wanting matched levels on every firmware update to finally have a lll levels matched up or close is a great thing for auditioning presets Great Work FAS

The Deluxe (with the new IR) is now just killer and everything a Fender should be. Pre-FW 18 I was not fan of this one even though I loved the one I owned. This one's now on the new short list for cleans. Still hate the Bassman models, but I hate them in real life too, which proves they're accurate. *LOL*
