Axe-Fest Live Report

I've been thinking that eventually, we will see IR's that are made with professional multi-mic'd setups like I assume would occur in a professional recording session- as opposed to just sticking a mic on the front of a cab and shooting it.

Is that what is being discussed at the event?

Wow... all the new info is really cool, the multi scene function is going to be a great add. I'm surprised that there is not more info on FRFR solutions though, I'm really interested to hear about all the offering that showed up.

+1.

I guess/hope there will be plenty of discussion about this in the coming days. I seem to remember Cliff saying on TGP that he would reveal his thoughts about the different options after the event.

+1 as well.

I'm sure folks are just tied up in the event at the moment to report back with all of the FRFR opinions/info. But I'm also hoping there is a lot of discussion to come on this.

Man, all of these reports are making me think that I should have tried a little harder to get out to the event!

I'd like to see more discussion of this on the forum: people sharing their IRs and TMs and how they shot them, multi-mic techniques, etc.

Wow I just read through the whole thread and I'm very, VERY excited about scenes and new IR's!!!

Thanks to Fractal and everyone else that made this event possible!

One vote for a Colorado Axe-Fest here!

I'm so glad Fractal is recording these sessions. What a bonus to owning the AxeFX to have some world class instructional videos to pull information from. Kudos! On another note....My AxeFX II shows up this Tuesday...I'm back in the AxeFX fold!

Sorry, not at liberty to disclose more details about Scenes, AFAIK.
Firmware is in beta and there's a NDA in effect.

Are these new "scenes" adressable by CCs ? And if yes: Can the MFC-101 in AxeFx Mode = ON send a CC within a PC Switch? If so, that would be awesome: You won`t have to save up to 8 times the same preset on your Axe-Fx on different Preset-Numbers with only changes in the bypass (and X/Y?!?!?!?! please...), because the scenes would do all this in the same preset ... Would be aweome, if i it would work like this. And the last reason to use AxeFx Mode = OFF would be obsolete!

This 'scenes' stuff sounds like it will completely change how I use the Axe. Probably the best thing that's happened to the Axe since....

....

....well, actually, it's all been pretty good.

All sounds great to me. Fractal life just keeps getting better. Thanks to everyone for all the work on this event, the new/upcoming offerings, the video guys (dying to see this stuff), and all the Fractal staff who continue to make the best guitar box out there more of everything that we gigging folks want and need. Awesome on all fronts.
