Don't think so because AX8 defaults to latest firmware...

No. The AX8 doesn't support firmware selection for power amp modeling. It's always latest.

The drives are incredible. I'm tempted to offload the external drives on my board.

I got the Ownhammer VX212 pack with a Celestion Blue and a Celestion Black Back - I suspect this cab might work really well with the HOOK.
