For years in the studio I would use a load box with a line out for my amp signal, going into a POD XT, bypassing the Amp modeling and using only Cab sims & FXs. Im trying it out with the Axe for the first time, and not getting the expected results, so Id like to confirm that I have things set correctly.
In this scenario I want to A/B my Badger 18 head to the Badger 18 amp sim. Ive got a B18 patch using a custom IR I shot from my last recording session with it. I recorded a quick take using my regular Badger patch, then I:
1. Bypassed the Amp Block, making sure its Bypass is set to Thru
2. Line Out (unbalanced) of the amp/load box into the rear Input 1 Left.
3. Changed Input 1 Left Select to "Rear" under I/O>Audio
4. Set Input 1 A/D to 65% (not even tickling the red with a single coil guitar)
I think that it. So far, I have to crank the Line Out level, and im not even get the full signal strength id like to get. The sound is also a bit dark. Just wondering if im missing something with the setup, I wouldnt be surprised! lol
Thanks in advance for any help!
