Not really. If your budget is $299, how many actual Fender amps can you buy?![]()
True, that
On the other hand, it’s kinda hard to imagine who would need 30 fender amps.

That was meYeah but sometimes people accidentally make two iLok usernames, one that's something like RifferMcDuck, the other RifferMcDuck@gmail.com, and they aren't aware they've been logging in with two separate usernames for years and end up with multiple plugins on each of them and they eventually accuse iLok of removing a plugin from their account and then iLok informs them they have two usernames and they spend the rest of their life in great shame
Happened to a ... friend
Their support was quick and super helpful. It looks neatImitated in 3.... 2.... ?
True story: the idea for that system came to me in a dream.
Not sure why you'd dismiss my interest that offhandedly? The hardware units are fairly portable, but if you're going on a trip and are trying to minimize the amount of stuff you haul along a plugin is pretty handy to have. But you do have to balance the cost vs. utility. I've got the old Studio Devil plugin plus a bunch of Plugin Alliance stuff. Enough to do in a pinch. Sure, I'd prefer the Fractal solution but if I can't duplicate things I have in my hardware presets it becomes necessary to ask myself, "What else could I spend 300 bucks on." It's not like you get a discount if you own the hardware or anything.I don't think it was meant for you to switch
But yeah, I almost bought it, then realized there's not much use in it right now for me. Missing effects, no grid, no amp channel switching, will wait and see.
I didn’t mean to dismiss your interest at all, sorry if it came out this way.Not sure why you'd dismiss my interest that
To me this question arises regardless of price.Sure, I'd prefer the Fractal solution but if I can't duplicate things I have in my hardware presets it becomes necessary to ask myself, "What else could I spend 300 bucks on." It's not like you get a discount if you own the hardware or anything.
Yes that is true............To be fair, I recall reading a post either from Cliff or someone else from Fractal, who downplayed or outright stated that a Fractal plug-in was essentially out of the question due to concerns of backwards engineering or someone “cracking the code”, or something to that effect. That Fractal wouldn’t or didn’t want to take the risk. I don’t have the means (or time) to search for that post, but I’m quite positive I read it. It was a few years ago, if I recall correctly, so perhaps the Fractal team solved that problem and it’s no longer a concern.
That’s why I’m thinking. The price will remain high…because it can.I very much doubt that making these plugins affordable is, or will ever be, the plan. And it wouldn't make any sense either for a company that makes hardware.
I thought you knew what you were doing? It looks neat
Though for those of us that know what we are doing - any chance of just having support for entering a dBu reading which corresponds to 0dBFS?
I do, hence the request.I thought you knew what you were doing?
I have a piece of software that uses iLok on my computer. Never had a problem with it.Well sadly the iLok kills it for me-That's why I never bought the fractal reverb-oh well, still have my FM3 mkII Turbo FM9 orig and Fm9 mkii turbo and FC6....I'm good.
iLok is the industry standard for music software anti-piracy. It costs a lot of money to create software. It's in my employee's interests that our software be protected from theft so they can continue to receive a paycheck.I and thousands of others literally despise iLok. Fairly shocked you went in a failed direction that consumers are so incredibly sick of.
Logic on this move?

Because it makes software hard to steal, I'm guessing.May I ask why you despise it?
