    Anyone using String Joy Strings?

Yes indeed! I have played many different brands over the years. IMHO Thomastik-Infeld makes the best strings - but at a premium price point. I would say that String Joy is closing in on them for quality and durability for electric guitar. (not including T-I's fantastic flat wounds - no...

Wish Allow selecting Drive position in delay block (in-feedback loop, out-of-feedback loop)

I have been working to replicate a EchoRec plugin using the Tape Delay module. Clearly the drive block in the Mono Tape delay is not in currently in the feedback loop. I would suggest having a dedicated drive control for the feedback loop in addition to the already existing input drive block...

I do use this parameter in a couple of presets. However, if it is easily replaced with the Dynamics comp type - I would not miss it.

    Axe-Fx Firmware Release Version 18.02

Clock rate was my 1st check in advance of posting. To clarify; I used the Virtual Capo as a 12 string sim with the mix set around 50%. I expect that a clock rate issue would effect both the dry and wet simultaneously. Just to be sure I am not having a Homer moment, I used the headphones out -...

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 16.00 "Cygnus"

Fantastic FW! The Amp block sound is stunning! However I think I have discovered an issue with the amp Vibrator depth. It seems that on non-vibrato Fender style amps that turning the Power Amp Vibrato depth to 100% yields a depth of about 50% instead. I can clearly hear a non-vibrato component...

I just started to work with the modifier PC Reset functions. I cannot get them to work as expected either. Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 12.08 Public Beta 4

In regards to the whammy pitch shifter - I notice that when playing a high note - say g on the 15th fret - and applying some subtle vibrato, as the note decays the shifted note wobbles around a bit. I double checked my guitar tuning and my strings are in good condition so those are not...

I do like the synth block even with its simplicity. However I had an idea for a patch and wanted to add portamento to the pitch tracking. I just listened very carefully 3 times on high end studio monitors. I think that #1 sounds more realistic particularly in the richer, chewier low end and low mids. FW5 and MFC101 MIDI THRU problem

Just updated to 5.04b and everything runs great again. No more MIDI issue - it was due to MIDI Program Change Receive being "on". FW5 and MFC101 MIDI THRU problem

I posted this problem in another thread but thought that it belongs here. There is a problem with the LED's on the MFC flashing in tempo to the midi clock sig and audio pulsating when MIDI thru is on. As I use MIDI thru all the time, I have reverted back to 4.01 until the problem is solved.

I updated to FW5. When I re-started the Axe the MFC101 was flashing all LED's at a moderate tempo and the audio output from the Axe II was pulsing in sync with the flashing of the MFC. Kinda like the color organ I built back in electronics class....just a little more expensive then that one...

    1. I run a synth with my guitar signal. The synth has a digital out. This feature is not currently implemented. 2...

Copy Output 1 to Output 2 does not work

Well - I take that back - there is not a work around... I can see why Cliff set it up this way -to prevent a feed back loop. However in a set up such as mine where input 2 is a source NOT being fed a signal from the Axe there is no possibility for a feedback loop. This does limit the...

Copy Output 1 to Output 2 does not work

Yeah - I did check the out 2 volume knob - that is an easy oversight to make I agree. I have been using the level meters on the I/O section to monitor the signal so I am certain that out 2 is not being fed any signal. I am using FXL returns to Input 2 on most of my patches since I run a GTR...

Is there a general desire for a real Harmonic Exciter effect

Thanks for the tips Albert. I'll give it a try in the near future. I have done this approximation in Protools on a track using a multiband comp. and eq. It was pretty good - but not exactly as I remembered. As to the comment about "it sounds like Barbie looks" well - yeah it does, but some...

Is there a general desire for a real Harmonic Exciter effect

While trying to emulate some 80's clean guitar sounds I found the "Enhancer" effect not to my liking as it effects the tone of the signal in a phase domain way that works pretty well for stereo but not so well for mono. I have used the Aphex, BBE and the Exciter that was on the Rocktron XTC...

    Ultra noise at 3khz??

I have been down this road with the Axe about 18 months ago - tracking down the source of the 3.3kHz noise. The noise was really only noticable at very high preamp gain settings and few of my tones live in that region of gain. I discovered that my guitar signal was picking up the noise from...

Multiband comp needs a Q control
