What was your 1st amp?

I think I had the OG version of this! Early ‘80’s Crate CR-112. I put it on top of an Ampeg 4-10 that someone left at a friends house and connected to the external speaker jack on the back. Actually didn’t sound too bad for what it was!

Is the '10-100k range' you mentioned the min/max of the pot, or are you saying that a pot anywhere between 10k and 100k will do the trick? Any chance you know where to source quality parts for this job? What about the 'number of turns' spec? does this matter or is it the same for all of them? A...

I had no idea about the non-linear taper in these things. I absolutely love the size and the travel, so I may have to do the same upgrades of pots and strings. Any chance you could share the pot part #s or a link to where you sourced them from? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info! I was hoping that you were onto a solution for those of us experiencing issues and I hope it helps some people out. In my case, there are 2 amps but neither one uses the gain enhancer, so there's still something else going on. Thanks for looking out for us though!

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 12.09

I know I'm being redundant here, but I gotta say, this FW release is just...WOW (or HSB for you veterans ;-)) !! Everything about it just feels so smooth and so right. Even amps that I've never really connected with sound so damn good! I'm blown away by this one. Thanks for gettin' 'er done...

The issues were there in 12.08 as well, at least for me, so rolling back to 12.08 may or may not help. I was using preset '2Chn DualRectifier v12', scene 1 & 2, 'Honey Lead Orange Normal' and 'SmolderSolo OrangeNormal' . Thanks!

Chris, do you think it's because the FM3 is simply using an inferior algorithm (in terms of quality) or a more efficient one? It doesn't seem like they could possibly be the same.

Interesting chart... Nice to see a comparison and it makes me glad that I have a III. There does seem to be one error in the chart though. The CPU usage is consistently HIGHER on the FM3 (approx. 2:1 or 3:2 on average?) however, the chart shows that the CPU usage for the Delay block is LOWER on...

Sounds sooo good! I can't see any sign of your leg moving to work the whammy, though. Did you DI and re-amp this or how are you controlling the whammy? LFO, scene controller, scene change, control switch, using The Force? What dark sorcery is this? :)

I think Austin Buddy will make the necessary fixes or at least advise us on how to handle things. I know that he only supports official releases though, so we'll have to wait and see what comes out of the pipeline for the next official release. Could be 12.08 or, as some have speculated, could...

Thanks for the response! That's very helpful and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who had an issue. I guess we'll have to wait until the FW is out of Beta and, if the issue still exists, reach out to the vendor as @FractalAudio suggested.
