Let's see those FM9 rigs!

Just got the FM9 and currently testing two rigs. 1. Matrix GT + FM9 to 4x12/2x12 and FOH (I still have to match levels and cabinet resonance) 2. Mesa Jp2c w/ 4x12 + FM9 on 4CM and Full MIDI control. (sounds awesssooome!)

I tried 92 but it feels unnatural. Feels like a mild subwoofer boom. Do you think the ports of the Gflex affect that? What were your setting before?

Yeah. Found that weird too. I run preamp models to a wide open power amp of my 5150. And all the way down on output 1 is still loud. I just mitigate it with the master and level knobs.

AX8 - Best way to augment and save CPU? (Delay vs Reverb)

I run a pretty simple patch. Just amp, no cab, pitch, wah, noise gate, geq, delay and reverb. And I'm at 88% CPU usage. But my delay and reverb is at the highest resolution. I can set it lower but it just sounds better that way. If you are into ambient stuff or do a lot of delays, I can see...

lol i chose the AX8 because it can do a spring loaded wah. and that was like a big deal for me. damn the helix's easier UI. and besides, i'm a clumsy guy and one falling mic cracking that big pretty color screen is an imminent possibility.

Effects of power conditioner?

I use a Furman SS-6B Powerstrip. While it's not a power conditioner, it also has EMI/RFI filters. My amp and AX8 are quiet when I run thru it compared to just plugging straight to the wall.

The easy answer is that it depends on the tube power amp and the sims you are running really. If it's a really clean tube power amp like a vht 2/90/2, you can run pre and power amp sims on. it has tons of headroom and the kt tubes help. you can crank it up so loud and it wouldn't have any power...

High gain players - what's your amp of choice?
