Looking for a second set of studio monitors

I have the APS Klasik monitors. I found them quite a bit nicer to listen to than the Adam A5x. More detail in the midrange. On audio forums they are usually described as sounding extremely good for the cost which is comparable to the Adams. I think I paid around $1k for the set

Captain Obvious here with a post about monitors

Well, the obvious next step would be to listen to your tones through some actual high end monitors. $1000 for even a used set is not even approaching mid grade. Yes the room needs treated obviously but if you can go on a trip or something and listen to some great monitors... just saying. $2500...

Wish: static room irs of each dynacab… the full length irs would be super cool to use as ambience. (The latest long ir file type, can’t remember what they are called) So the idea is use one cab block for the Dyna-Cab, then use a second cab block or IR player for the ambience.

Overall favorite powered cab?

The Friedman ASM12 is known to have the most amp like feel but maybe not as flat and accurate as other options. That’s what use and it sounds and feels just like a real cab to me but I’m likely used to it by now. Finding the right ir is a big part as well.

The indicator should be moving quite a bit. If it’s not play with modifier settings. That said the way I have it is almost too much. It’s fun to play with but for actual use in a band scenario I would probably pull it back a little bit.. my point is it should be quite noticeable when playing...

Yes that too and that was my original intent. The happy accident is pinch harms come out louder, and really just digging in I think creates a little burst of noise that occasionally triggers a gain increase also.

It likely depends on the software you are using. For me I typically have autocad and excel open at the same time for structural design. The apps remember their tiling so they open that way but if I need to concentrate on one or the other I just maximize it and it takes up the entire screen until...

Yes from what I recall, although it wasn’t neve or api. Too lazy to google it. in general though the mic pre drive is just another tool to play with. I like to lower the gain on the amp in the axe, then add some drive back in on the mic pre or overdrive the compressor hardware.. anyway it seems...

My Favorite Marshall (as of FW 4) What's yours?

LT mix3 ir is great for Marshall’s. More mids than mix7. I’ve compared to the legacy 103 and it’s in the ball park but LT3 is more focused and clear. I’m having a hard time using anything else.
