FRFR sounds terrible to my ears compared to poweramp/cab. What am I doing wrong?

i have yamaha HS monitors and mine also sounded CRAP when i plugged my axe directly into my focusrite 2i4. i hated it ! it completely changed when i went into my mixing desk before going into my focusrite. i dont know why or how. i just know that it now sounds fantastic and translates perfectly...

NEED ADVICE-Studio Monitors to Live Wedge. How to compensate for differences?

i hire a room for 2hours. that way i can crank and tweak. i sometimes play with a backing track which helps me get closer to the ballpark in terms of what the other instruments are doing which may cancel me out.

I have the XL and have loaded everything. ive set up a looper to scroll through them all. hate to be rude but they just sound like someones been mucking around with an EQ and have dialed up random eq settings.

stumbled across a cool little trick to fatten my tone. give it a go to see if it works for you. i simply added a blank shunt on a different grid line then linked it up (in and outs) to my main line of amps,cabs etc.

this is what i dont like with the unit. my mfc101 freezes sometimes. and other times comes up with 'timeout' sometimes it resets itself quickly by turning off and turning on. other times it takes longer. this a real concern when playing live. i really dont trust it.

At 100% the delay is turned off completely. The delays volume is decreasing as i turn up the amount of mix. It never did this prior to the new fw update. Should be The higher the mix the more delay is added to your signal.

First couple of gigs with the Axe Fx Xl under the belt.. My impressions

Nice wrap. I had the same issue. The difference with my patches, was that even though the levels were equal. The eq settings were slightly different. What was happening was the bass/drums were cancelling out certain frequencies resulting in what i perceived as a volume drop in certain patches.

This sounds a bit risky as your stage tone will be different to your FOH sound. Personally id want my stage sound to match my FOH sound. Maybe hard mic your stage cab ? Then you know what your sending to FOH. A Cab sim to match your cabinet ?! In the studio... Yes. Live ??? Its a different story.

Wouldnt having this setup make it difficult to hard tweak? Because yr marshall 4x12 will put out a different tone to what your sending via the axe to FOH. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can't figure out weird phase/fizz issue on high gain amps
